What to expect
A healing session will normally begin with a quick chat to understand any presenting problems. After this I will then introduce myself to the animal to help them feel at ease. I use a variety of techniques depending on the circumstances and conduct 'general' healing as well as more specialist work such as soul retrieveal or miasm and blocks removal as appropriate. Both people and animals can have a range of reactions to a healing session. The most common sensation is one of deep relaxation. Animals may appear to become quiet or sleepy, and sometimes they may have muscle twitches as unwanted energy is released. Often horses are very physical in their release and like to be able to move and kick. It is also common to have no reaction whatsoever - this does not mean that the healing has 'not worked' but is just a reflection of how that individual responds. Less often, there may be a 'healing crisis' where the body has a strong reaction as it 'clears' unwanted energy. This can sometimes leave people feeling slightly unwell but will pass in time.
After a healing session you should:
- Allow your animal to rest in peace and quiet. This allows them to gain most benefit from their session and lets them gently come back to normality. If you have a horse, do not ride or lunge for at least 4 hours, preferably wait until the following day.
- Provide plenty of fresh water. It is normal to feel thirsty after a session. Animals may drink and urinate more than is normal.
- Keep an eye on your pet. It is thought that healing may affect metabolism so any current medication may either be absorbed more quickly than normal, or metabolised and excreted more quickly than normal. If you have any
concerns please check with your vet.
